Draft of October 12, 2026. This page is a draft: it is not yet in force, and the parts marked to confirm are still open.
We want Final-ink to be usable by everyone who works on immigration files. Our aim is to meet the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.2 at level AA, in the app and on this website.
What we have done
- Every screen can be used with a keyboard alone, with a visible focus.
- Dialogs and drawers keep the focus inside them and close with Escape.
- Colour is never the only signal: a finding’s severity is always a word and a shape as well.
- Text and controls meet the contrast levels of WCAG 2.2 AA in the light and the dark theme, and this is tested automatically.
- Progress and results are announced to screen readers as they change.
- Movement is reduced when your device asks for that.
- Every component and every screen is checked with an automated accessibility tool each time it changes.
What we know is not there yet
- A page of a scanned document in the evidence viewer is a picture. The quote behind a finding is always given as text beside it, but the rest of the page is not.
- A TIFF or HEIC image has no preview in the evidence viewer.
[TO CONFIRM: the results of the keyboard and screen-reader passes, and their dates]
